Our beloved Don Moorhouse went home to be with our Lord this week. He will be greatly missed.
Donald T. Moorhouse PINEY FLATS, Tenn. Donald T. Moorhouse, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Born in St. Paul, Minn., he was the son of the late Mervin and Eunice Waddell Moorhouse. After graduating from Milligan College, Don served 15 years as a Christian minister and most recently the associate pastor of New Bethel Presbyterian Church, in Piney Flats. He received a master of science in technology degree from ETSU and taught at Sullivan East High School from 1977 2005. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Moorhouse Duncan; and a brother, William Moorhouse. Don is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kay Moorhouse; three daughters, Michelle Morgan and husband Charlie of Williamsburg, Va., Melissa Fortner and husband Brian of Harrisonburg, Va., and Melanie Moorhouse of Piney Flats; two brothers, Richard Moorhouse and wife Virginia of Mountain City and Robert Moorhouse and wife Diane of Forest Lake, Minn.; grandchildren, Kaitlin Jo Foreman, Thomas Foreman, Jeremy Foreman, Channing Bennett, Cole Fortner, Jaedon Bennett and Ainslee Fortner; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. The family will receive friends from 57 p.m. on Friday at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City, Tenn. A gathering of remembrance service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Presbyterian Church.
